The Story Of Sea Glass

From the 17th to 19th centuries, sailors would throw their garbage (including glass) overboard. Seaside towns and cities of that period also dumped their glass and garbage into the ocean.

As the glass broke into smaller pieces, it slowly got tumbled by the sea and polished by the sand as it made its way to shore, eventually becoming "beach" or "sea" glass.

We also work in other mediums such as beads, dominoes, art glass and Moqui. Moqui marbles are hematite concretions, from the Navajo Sandstone of southeast Utah; they are also referred to as "Shaman Stones" and are used for healing.

About The Twisted Sisters

Sandi and Jackie Sweitzer are sisters-in-law who stumbled onto a Sea Glass Festival during one of their annual trips to the beach.

They fell headlong into love with crafting sea glass from that point and began to discover that there was indeed glass to be found on the beaches they visited. They started taking jewelry-making classes, learned wire working and then began to make their own jewelry.

That was the birth of Twisted Sisters. Jackie and Sandi make their jewelry from sea glass that they've found or purchased from other beachcombers like themselves. They hope you like their unique designs and are always open to comments and to opportunities to do customized pieces as well.
